Just a few highlights...

I find myself saying, “this time of the year is always so busy”, a lot. It recently occurred to me that “this time of the year” is getting longer and longer and I just need to accept the fact that we stay busy. But, this is a critical time of each year because it is the quarter in which my work permit reporting and face-to-face interview happens, the time when we renew our annual volunteer visa, the time when Timothy begins a new year at university, and also the time we start a new term of Asaph’s Journal School of Worship… all the paperwork, HUGE costs and fees to immigration, book orders, t shirt design, meetings with potential students or pastors, etc. in the midst of carrying on with ministry opportunities and commitments as well.
Nevertheless, I woke yesterday with a gnawing feeling that it was time for an official update (although, if you follow us on facebook you have a general idea of what we’ve been up to). So, to keep it brief, I’m going to give you a highlight (and lowlight?) for each month since last September to get us up to date. Ready?
October 2025 – We conducted a two day Worship Workshop at The Seed in Chiang Rai. Celebrated Dao’s birthday. The students went up into the mountain to conduct a kids camp, we ministered at the university, a Bible school on the border and hosted numerous guests at the school.
November 2025 – Tim helped do the worship for an annual men’s conference here in the North of Thailand and our students revisited our old stomping grounds to do a “kids club” night with the kids there, along with more guests we hosted. Celebrated Lydia’s birthday. Also, 2025 AJS graduation! It was an anointed time with so many local ministers attending to support and pray over our graduates.
December 2025 – Matthew achieved 100 days of sobriety so we released him to a bible/vocational training program closer to his home. Our recent graduates went up another mountain to a very remote area to do a Christmas outreach there. Baby Wonder was born.
January 2026 – Tim’s sister came to visit and we enjoyed a little break and time to visit with her before also saying goodbye to Zach, who had been with us for 7 months. Also, we began negotiations on a new property which contains our personal home, the ministry base, a detached kitchen / dining area, a detached laundry house and room for growth.
February 2026 – We began the VERY long process of renovation and repair to the new property (that had been sitting vacant for nearly a decade) and moving. We are so thankful for all the various friends and ministries that took time to show up to help with various projects. We also had to put in a new transmission on our 2008 CRV.
March 2026 – We continued to work daily in between leading worship, meetings, counseling, to prepare the new property. Tim had surgery and a three day hospital vacation. Lydia walked for her university graduation (class of 2025) majoring in Chinese Language and Culture.
April 2026 – Asaph’s Journal did worship for a big youth camp in Chiang Mai. We also hosted our first Song Writing Day Retreat for local creatives to come together from various denominations and ministries to write worship music together. We received a new addition to the house – Miss Sangna. She is 17 years old, a hard worker, and eager to learn and honor God with her life. Also, Lydia was promoted from intern to staff. (She has an incredible testimony, is an anointed worship leader, and wants to preach the gospel.) We believe God monthly for the funds to pay her, and she has joined her faith with ours for the increase. It is a challenge for her to step out in this way with the pressure from loved ones and other Christians frequently questioning her on her financial status – which is a hot topic among Thai families. God has much for her, and he is working in her quickly.
May 2026 – We went to the Philippines for a week and while there, ministered (worship, speaking and ministry) in a few places, 2 women’s conferences, 1 day at the prison, a youth conference and Sunday church. When we returned, Misty made a trip over the mountain to check back in with immigration and had to ride back home through the mountain in our car, strapped to a roll-back. That was quite the adventure. Our CRV car had to have the top part of the engine rebuilt – but we are back on the road, better than before. Also, Timmy finished his first year of university with a 4.0; and Mr. Ritta got engaged!
This brings us up to date. There is so much more to report, feel free to message us or call us to catch up and get more details. As usual, each person we take in has a story. I choose not to share all those details in a newsletter. We always want to honor people, maintain a level of dignity and not uncover them in any way whenever possible.
June Tim and I will be traveling to Malaysia for a minister’s conference, and will return just in time for Tim to go into the studio to record new music for another youth camp. These songs are not new in the USA, but they were translated by Miss Lydia and new to Thailand. For the youth to learn them, someone has to record them. While Tim is in the studio, Misty will be traveling back and forth to take care of her work permit interview, paperwork and preparing for the next AJS term to begin in July.
There is so much more that has transpired the last few months, so many new open doors, and even some reconnections that have brought us full circle. Much fulfillment of things God showed us before we began this journey. In trials, in testing, in sickness, in the tough seasons, there is still so much to be thankful for. He is still a good God who does not leave us, does not forsake us, and cannot fail.
Thank you for your prayer, your support, and being able to read between the lines. We do what we do because God said, “do it”; and we are able to do it, in large part, because of your obedience to support us, as well. We labor together.
He continues to be our greatest adventure.
Timothy, Jr. and Misty Scott
