With the first week of school finished, we would appreciate you continuing to join your faith with ours, for the finances for 4 of the students (3 have been covered). The cost during this time, has been reduced to 6,000 Thai Baht (which = roughly $200 U.S., depending on the exchange rate of the day). This will help cover the cost for an interpreter, housing, and food for the 3 month period. We will be blessing the students with the school supplies, a shirt, and small thumb drive!
If you are able to, or if you feel God is leading you to give, please obey and be Blessed. If not, believe with us that the needs of all of the students and the interpreter, will be met. There are 6 current students, with a 7th starting Monday. 10% of the student’s payment will be tithed to Victory Church, as we are partnering with them. The rest will go towards covering the Interpreter’s salary, covering the cost of the translation of the books used during school, school supplies and any trips to other ministries to serve and be a blessing. This school is not, nor ever was, about us, but the people God wants to reach, teach, and bless! If you’re unsure about how to help, please pray! Prayers are answered daily, sometimes even hourly around here!
The last three months we busily remodeled an empty building to provide dormitory housing for the students, are still working with the church worship team, and facilitating Tuesday night Kids Praise. Small steps are hard to measure when you're in the midst of the journey; and often, worship itself is hard to measure, in terms of value and return. But God is moving, the kids are learning to worship and give thanks, the younger members of the worship team have started leading worship and God's favor has been upon them. This last Wednesday the teens led the all-church worship night and the presence of God was so special. Up until October, we were both also helping teach the village high school students part time.
One week before classes began at Asaph's Journal, God sent us an interpreter. She is from South Thailand - which means a different diet, different climate, difference from the local language here, etc. I suggested she pray about being a missionary to the north. She did, God worked a miracle, and we are so happy to have her with us for this school term. It's been an adjustment for her, just as it was for us when we came. Rats, scorpions, bugs, etc... it feels weird, as the white person, being the expert on pest removal.
Thank You for your prayers, your friendships, your donations, your kind words while checking in on us, and your prayers! (And yes, prayer is mentioned twice on purpose!) THANK YOU! We love being here to do what God called us to do, and You’ve been a BIG part of that.
